Question 1

How much does a house cleaning cost in Ottawa?

Accepted Answer

A standard clean starts at $129 for a 1-bedroom home, $159 for 2 bedrooms, $199 for 3, and $249 for 4. A deep clean adds $70. Move-in or move-out starts at $219. Recurring plans cut 10–20% and members save an extra 15%. Every quote is fixed before you book — no hourly rates and no surprise fees. 5+ bedrooms get a custom quote.

Question 2

What does a standard house cleaning include?

Accepted Answer

Every standard clean covers your kitchen, bathrooms, all living areas, bedrooms, floors, and dusting. We wipe counters and stovetops, sanitize tubs, showers, and toilets, vacuum carpets and rugs, mop hard floors, dust surfaces and baseboards, make beds, take out trash, and tidy living spaces. It's the everyday refresh that keeps a home spotless — the same checklist every time.

Question 3

What's the difference between a standard clean and a deep clean?

Accepted Answer

A standard clean covers everyday surfaces — kitchen, bathrooms, floors, and dusting. A deep clean adds the detail work: scrubbed baseboards, wiped blinds and window sills, dusted light fixtures and ceiling fans, deep-scrubbed tile and grout, door frames, switch plates, and behind and under appliances. Inside the fridge, oven, and cabinets is available on request. Deep cleans run 4–8 hours.

Question 4

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

You can reschedule or cancel any booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a 50% fee, because we've already reserved your cleaner's time. Recurring clients can pause or skip a week anytime from the dashboard — no penalty. We'll always send a reminder before each clean so you can adjust if needed.

Question 5

How do I reschedule or cancel a booking?

Accepted Answer

Log in to your dashboard to reschedule, pause, or cancel any recurring booking in a couple of taps. For one-time cleans, reply to your confirmation text or email at least 24 hours ahead. You can also call or text 613-854-6086. There's no charge to move a clean as long as you give us a day's notice.

Question 6

Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Christeen cleaner arrives with everything needed — vacuums, mops, microfiber cloths, and eco-friendly products. You don't need to provide a thing. If you'd prefer we use a specific product or your own vacuum, just note it when booking and we'll follow your instructions. Supplies are restocked before each visit, so nothing is ever forgotten or runs out mid-clean.

Question 7

Can I use my own cleaning products?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. If you have preferred products, a favourite vacuum, or a scent you love, tell us when booking and your cleaner will use exactly what you supply. We'll still bring our own kit as backup. Many clients with sensitivities or specific brands choose this option — your home, your products, your rules, applied the same way every time.

Question 8

I have pets — is that okay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We love pets. Just let us know about them when booking so we can plan — we'll keep doors closed, avoid stressing shy animals, and use pet-safe products. If a pet is protective or anxious around strangers, a brief heads-up helps us work around them. There's no extra charge for having pets in the home during a clean.

Question 9

Are your cleaning products safe for pets and children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic, plant-based products by default, which are safe for pets and children once surfaces dry. We avoid harsh bleach and ammonia unless you specifically request them. For homes with newborns or sensitivities, we offer fragrance-free, baby-safe options. Every product we use is clearly labelled, and your cleaner can tell you exactly what was applied where.

Question 10

Do you offer eco-friendly cleaning products?

Accepted Answer

Yes — eco-friendly products are our default and come at no extra charge. They're plant-based, biodegradable, non-toxic, and fragrance-light, and they're safe for pets, children, and septic systems. If you'd prefer conventional products for a specific job, just ask. You can also select an eco-friendly add-on in the booking flow, which is flagged with a green leaf on your cleaning report.

Question 11

What areas of Ottawa does Christeen serve?

Accepted Answer

We clean across the National Capital Region: Ottawa, Orleans, Kanata, Nepean, Barrhaven, Stittsville, and Gatineau. Inside that radius you're covered at the same flat rate, with no travel surcharge. If you're just outside, enter your address at booking and we'll confirm instantly — we often extend service for nearby areas. Every neighbourhood gets the same crew, products, and guarantee.

Question 12

How do I book a cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Book in under two minutes: choose your service type, set your bedroom and bathroom count, add any extras, pick a date and time, and confirm. You get a fixed price instantly — no waiting for a callback. Pay online at checkout or after the service. Book online, by text, or by phone at 613-854-6086, seven days a week.

Question 13

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

Standard cleans can usually be booked for the next day, with same-day slots available on request. For deep cleans, move-outs, and Airbnb turnovers, book 3–5 days ahead. Recurring plans lock in your preferred weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly slot automatically — you never have to rebook. The earlier you book, the more time slots are open, especially around month-end and holidays.

Question 14

Are you insured and bonded?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Christeen carries full liability insurance and bonding. If anything is ever damaged, lost, or missed, our satisfaction guarantee means we return within 24 hours to make it right at no extra cost. Every clean is covered whether you're home or away. Your home, belongings, and trust are fully protected on every visit, and claims are handled promptly and personally.

Question 15

Are your cleaners background-checked?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Christeen cleaner is background-checked, trained, uniformed, and supervised. We don't use subcontractors — the people cleaning your home are our employees, not gig workers. Recurring clients are matched to the same cleaner each visit so that person gets to know your home, your pets, and your preferences. All team members carry photo ID and arrive in a marked vehicle.

Question 16

What's the difference between recurring and one-time cleaning?

Accepted Answer

A one-time clean is a single booking — perfect for a move-out, a deep reset, or before guests. A recurring plan schedules a clean weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, locks in the same cleaner, and discounts every visit by 10–20%. Recurring members also save an extra 15% and can pause, skip, or reschedule anytime from the dashboard with no penalty.

Question 17

Do I save money with recurring cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Recurring plans discount every clean automatically: weekly saves 20%, bi-weekly saves 15%, and monthly saves 10%. Members get an extra 15% off on top. A bi-weekly 2-bedroom clean that's normally $159 drops to about $115 for a member — locked in, same cleaner, no rebooking. You can pause or cancel anytime from the dashboard, with no fees and no notice period.

Question 18

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

Accepted Answer

No. Most clients leave a key, lockbox code, or concierge instructions and go about their day. Your cleaner texts when they arrive and again when they finish. Every clean is insured and bonded whether you're home or not, and recurring bookings keep the same pro so they already know your home and access. You'll get a summary and photos after each visit.
